Bavarian manufacturers present BMW 740e hybrid modification

Hybrid BMW 740e was unveiled in March at the Auto Show in Geneva. The novelty is an ecological model. The new BMW 740e distinguishes by extraordinary dynamic characteristics and at the same time, a reduction of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in the atmosphere. The car was equipped by a hybrid power plant. It consists of a 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine and an electric motor. This power unit is capable of delivering about 326 horsepower. An average index of fuel consumption in a hybrid mode is 2.1 or 2.3 liters per 100 km. The driver can choose several driving modes; one of them is fully electric that provides a possibility to pass almost 40 kilometers on a single charge at 140 km/h maximum speed.

The luxury novelty will be offered in two versions: the standard and long wheelbase modifications. There also will be proposed all-wheel 740Le xDrive where power of petrol and electric motors apportions between front and rear wheels. Depending on the chosen specification, the car will need 5.6, 5.7 and 5.5 seconds for acceleration from zero to 100 km/h.

The equipment list includes hybrid LED headlamps, an interactive key, multimedia system with navigation and the ability to control gestures, wireless charging for gadgets, and the preheating and interior cooling systems.

BMW has presented the first representative i8 Protonic Red Edition in a new limited line, which got an iPerformance common code. The new edition differs from other versions in body bright color, original 20-inch alloy wheels, and decorative i8 and Protonic Red Edition plaques.

BMW M4 will get 700-hp Carbon Fiber Dynamics tuning
