BMW Alpina B5 Bi-Turbo has got all-wheel drive

BMW Company has showed B5 Bi-Turbo family for the Geneva visitors. Two principal innovations included into the new package are presented by the introduction of the all-wheel drive and the steering rear axle (with the wheel deviation at the angle of 2.5 °). Both systems have got the settings in accordance with the wishes of Alpine engineers.

The modified version is supplied by 4.4 supercharged engine with the capacity of 608 hp and 800 Nm of torque. The new sedan B5 is able to accelerate up to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds while B5 Bi-Turbo Touring station wagon takes 3.6 seconds. The top speeds of two versions are equal to 330 and 325 km/h. The fuel consumption in the combined cycle of the sedan makes 10.3 liters per 100 km, and the station wagon consumes 0.1 liters more.

Among other options offered for two B5 models there are the adaptive shock absorbers, electric power steering with variable gear ratio, 395 mm Brembo brakes and Pirelli P Zero tires with ALP marking. Compared with the previous generation Alpine B5, the modified models lost 20-30 kg (sedan has 2015 kg, and wagon has 2120 kg). The engineers estimate the B5 sedan at 94,118 Euros and B5 wagon at 96,891.
