BMW presented prototype X2 at the Paris Motor Show
Premiere of a new prototype BMW X 2, which is the harbinger of a new compact SUV of the German brand, took place at the Paris Motor Show. Information about the technical side of the concept, unfortunately, was not unveiled.
Foreign media received at their disposal details concerning the overall length / width / height of the car: 4 m 439 mm / 1 m 821 mm / 1 m 598 mm. Thus, the new crossover may have the same length and width as the actual X1, but it will be 14 mm lower then a serial SUV.
It is known that the serial BMW X2 will be built on the new front-drive architecture UKL, which is used to create compact models MINI, as well as the BMW X1 and the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer. The new SUV should appear in the second quarter of 2018. The power range will include two-liter diesel engine generating 150-230 horsepower, as well as 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine which produces 191 horsepower. It is expected that the crossover will have front- and all-wheel drive version.
