Judging by the show car, the large novelty will have 5020 mm in length, 2020 in width, 1800 in height and a wheelbase of 3010 mm. It is unlikely that the series cars’ values will change significantly. BMW X7 crossover will be based on the rear-wheel-drive modular CLAR platform, the same is used for 7 Series and X5 model. According to Jan Robertson, BMW’s marketing chief the platform changes are not only about the length: an off-road giant will have a lot of its own original parts.

The car makers plan to deliver to the markets the versions of X7 SUV with six and eight cylinders motors under the hood, and later there will be launched the models with four and twelve cylinders. In particular, these motors will be 326-hp 2-liter petrol-electric installation with network charging, borrowed from 740e iPerformance sedan. Another hot variant is a 12-cylinder 610-horsepower 6.6 turbocharger from the M760Li xDrive.
