Sales of BMW ActiveE Will Begin in 2013

At the Geneva Motor Show, BMW presented its unique electric car – ActiveE. Now it is time for our readers to get to know more about this concept car, as the sales of it may start in the newly began year. This model is from the generation of the second test electric vehicles, which are derived from the BMW 1-Series Coupe. The car has received a complete motor and luggage compartment with the volume of 200l. One of the main advantages of the BMW ActiveE is a spacious interior, which can comfortably accommodate three passengers, as well as it is possible in the standard coupe BMW 1-Series.

Improved motor can compete with the standard gasoline engine in the BMW ActivE car. On acceleration of the BMW ActiveE from zero to 100 km/h the car takes just 9 seconds, and top speed is electronically limited to 145 km/h for the safety of those driving it. In place of the engine, fuel tank and transmission there are three energy storage with lithium-ion batteries.

BMW engineers have taken care of the safety and protection of each battery module with the new modified steel case and liquid cooling system. Note that the BMW ActiveE is charged as a transformer from the street (32 AM) for 5 hours, and the standard power can last for 10 hours.
