The worlds first ever front wheel drive BMW 1-Series GT concept

In September 2012 at the Paris motor show, the first ever front-wheel-drive BMW will make its international debut. The to BMW 1-Series GT, will be brought out as a concept car in Paris. Thw concept will be Previewing the next model that is expected to be seen 2014. The model appears to broaden BMW’s 1-Series line-up rather than substitute the current it.

The new model is expected to have a stable stance, a raised seating position, and form a rear-end design just like BMW’s existing 5-Series GT and its upcoming 3-Series GT. The new BMW is destined to compete with the Mercedes-Benz B-Class compact MPV. The new model will share its front-wheel-drive platform with the new third-generation Mini Cooper, which is also due by 2014.

The manufacturer’s upcoming turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine and the four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines will be beneficial to both BMW Group vehicles . A hybrid power train will probably be included too. The xDrive system is expected to be included as an option to the front-drive layout. An agent from Mini CarAdvice said that the two front-wheel-drive cars would have their own special characters. The agent also said that the next Mini Cooper would be more fun to drive than its German cousin.
