The extraordinary BMW 6 series car

The BMW 6 Series is an executive coupe manufactured by the German automaker BMW. The first ever was the E24, which was deduced from the E12 & E28 5 Series 4-door sedans. The E24 was first released in 1976 and two years later in 1978 BMW debuted a number of vehicles. This included the 635CSi which came with had a powerful engine and a top speed of 222 km/h (138 mph). The 635CSi went from not to 60mph in just 7.4 seconds.

Early cars were made with a 5-speed ‘dog-leg’ Getrag gearbox. An automatic four-speed transmission became more common later. The BMW went through a few important changes with in the mid 1982 such as including the 5-speed manual pattern and the more usual four-speed auto. About 5 years later, a more luxury version, known as the L6 reached the United States of America. The rare 6-series is simply marvelous and deserves to be BMW’s most sold car.

The 6 series had cool leather headliner, trim and a few other gadgets. Unfortunately, it was available only as an automatic. The 6 Series coupe is more attached to performance as compared the 5 Series saloon. Luckily, transmission choices are either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.
