The production of X7 crossover has begun in Spartanburg. It should be noted that these cars are pre-series ones close to the characteristics of the serial versions, which will debut one year later. The camouflaged prototypes will go to different roads for testing, including conditions of the Death Valley and frosty Scandinavia. The cars are assembled on the same line as the five-door X5 and X6. Judging by the official photos taken at the factory, BMW X7 is very similar to the same-name concept with narrowed headlights and a huge grille. Note also the huge rear doors, hinting at a comfortable landing. The main market for the BMW X7 will be North American.

The seven-seat crossover is based on the CLAR modular platform with a two-lane front and multi-link rear, electronically controlled shock absorbers and, most likely, a full-fledged air suspension, like the seven-series sedan. It is expected that the car will be supplied with 3-liter petrol and diesel V6, V8 4.4 (450 hp) engine and a hybrid unit like the BMW 740e iPerformance.

Prototypes come off the assembly line in different designs, including expensive ones, with a two-section panoramic roof, a separate sunroof for passengers in a third-row and artificial chamois ceiling trim.
