BMW brand continues Z4’s successor testing, which will debut in the end of 2017 or early 2018. Due to the photo spies, the Internet has some pictures of the novelty during the test on the public roads. The novelty will be different from its predecessor and get a new design.

The successor will be built on a new platform developed jointly with Toyota Company. The production version will get Z5 name. The car will be designed by a long hood and a large grille. As for the dimensions, the length is 4500 mm, the tall is 1340 mm and the wheelbase is 2500 mm. Thus, the novelty’s size let it to compete with Porsche911. The body of the roadster will be made of a carbon fiber, which is similar to the material used in BMW i3 and i8 models. Z5 will be equipped by a hybrid power plant with the capacity of 400 horsepower including 2.5-liter 6-cylinder engine and an electric motor. In addition, the hybrid car will get a 4-wheel drive system.
