BMW 2-series Gran Tourer will be updated in 2018

Next year, the Bavarians are going to unveil the restyling version of Gran Tourer, which is now preparing together with the renewed Active Tourer of the second series. Firstly, the car was presented in spring 2015. The seven-seat car will get an improved design, equipment and, probably, motor range. The front part, bumper and grille will be changed the most noticeably.

The large pictures where we can see the car under the camouflage show the headlights with hexagonal internal sections, similar to the two-door coupe or the newest X2. As for the modifications at the rear part, they were provided only for a bumper. Two exhaust pipes hint that the test version is equipped with a two-liter unit.

The motor range is already familiar to the customers. This is about 1.5 and 2.0-liter petrol and diesel engines. However, it will not be a surprise to see the updated Grand Tourer with a hybrid power unit. The closest Active Tourer car has a petrol-electric version 225xe iPerformance in the assortment that generates 225 horsepower and consumes 2.0-2.1 liters of fuel per 100 km at average. The multimedia systems and safety systems must also be updated.
