BMW Company has officially unveiled a new sedan 5-Series G30

After a series of intriguing announcements, the German company BMW has officially unveiled the 5-Series sedan of new generation G30. Car of 2017 model year which is built on a new platform, received fully LED optics, infotainment system with gesture control function, “an acoustic capsule” for the power unit and gearbox SYNTAK, a new five-link rear suspension, remote parking system that does not require the driver to be in the cabin, and many other innovative solutions.

Sedan BMW 5-Series G30 (seventh generation) is built on a new platform CLAR, which also is the base of the flagship model 7-Series. Due to this, the car became significantly lighter than its predecessor (100 kilograms). At the same time it managed to improve the body strength and torsional rigidity. The drag coefficient reduced by 10 percent – to 0.22. As they say in the company, this is the best indicator among the sedans in this segment in the global market.

According to official data, when the vehicle will appear on the world auto market (11 February 2017) customers will be able to choose between two petrol and two diesel engines. All power units (except the base diesel version) are combined with 8-step automatic transmission Steptronic.
