BMW held a presentation of a hybrid X5xDrive40e Plug-in-Hybrid

German car brand BMW made a presentation of the production version of the SUV X5 xDrive40e. The car is based on BMW X5 eDrive concept, which was shown to the public more than a year ago. The car is equipped with a large turbocharged engine and an electric motor.

Novelty is equipped with a hybrid power plant, which includes an electric motor with a capacity of 113 horsepower and gasoline engine with the volume of 2 liter with a turbocharger producing 245 horsepower. The car is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 9 kW / h. Also engineers installed Steptronic gearbox, which has 8 working ranges. All this allows to heavy SUV weighing 2 tons 230 kilograms accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 6.8 seconds. The maximum speed is 210 kilometers per hour.

Regarding the interesting features it is known that SUV battery is placed in the trunk. It takes about 4 hours to recharge the car. In electric power the vehicle can overcome 31 kilometer, and the maximum speed can be 120 kilometers per hour. Average fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is 3.3-3.4 liters of gasoline.
