BMW M4 GT4 is the first model of the BMW Motorsport division that has got a flexible engine management supplied by various pre-settings for different returns. The exhaust system is destined specially for M4 GT4 racing. The novelty was also provided by a pilot’s seat, a pedal knot and a braking system borrowed from BMW M6 GT3 model. These are AP Racing mechanisms with improved cooling and balance system as well as with six-piston front calipers and four-piston at the rear. The brake discs are 390 mm and 355 mm in size, respectively. The carmakers used carbon fiber for making the roof, hood and doors of the novelty.

The new M4 GT4 copies the power unit of the standard M4 model. This is 3.0-liter six-cylinder biturbo motor that delivers around 430-hp (adjusted after equalizing capabilities), and a seven-band preselective automatic transmission. The suspension scheme was complemented by new details. Thus, instead of standard shock absorbers there were installed Ohlins ones. The springs with three presets for each axle have a control option.
