BMW will update the 3 series in 2015

According to the BMW plans, 3 Series family update will begin in 2015. Production of the first generation “three” started in 1975, and the front-wheel version of the 3 Series was released in 2011, so that the scheduled update is well within the standard life cycle of the car.

Bavarians are going to provide the representatives of the “three” new range of engines. Accordingly, the desire to retain a leading position in the segment and pushed the Bavarian concern to think about supplying “3” new power trains. According to BMW, the family will receive updated motors, already used on the new BMW Active Tourer and Mini. As a result, increase the power available in some versions of the family. For example, for modification of the 320i with the change of engine will add 8 “horses”. BMW 335i, the most powerful version, tap into additional 34-hp.

As expected, restyling 3 Series will present in 2015, and by the autumn of this year, the manufacturer will release a hybrid version. The latter is a little known yet, but already voiced assumption that the hybrid will get a 2-liter turbo engine and an electric motor, which is used for the sub-brand models «i». Revision of the motor line will not only affect sedan 3 Series – in the future be subject to modification convertible and coupe 4 Series.
