New BMW 7-Series Part I

The official history of the BMW 7 series began in 1977, when the model E23 stood up on the conveyor. It was very advanced for its time – the car, the design of which was used a lot of elegant and sophisticated technical solutions. And now BMW is planning to introduce a new generation 7-Series sedan in the fall of next year at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The flagship model will be built on a new modular platform and can get “charged” version, and especially luxury long-wheelbase modification.

The new generation of the BMW 7-Series is built from aluminum, magnesium, carbon fiber reinforced plastics and high-strength steels. According to the official information, the sedan will “lose weight” at least for 200 kg – including its fully independent suspension with aluminum. The significant weight loss will allow the Bavarians to use on “seven” four-cylinder engines – in particular, it is expected that the sedan will be powered by two-liter diesel engine.

In addition to it, BMW 7-Series will get several options six-cylinder diesel 3-liter double and triple turbo. The gasoline Line engines made of this three-liter unit, the newly developed 4-liter V8 and six-liter V12 to the traditional top modifications. The motors will work in tandem with a 9-speed automatic transmission.
