New BMW Z5 will get a hybrid power plant

Toyota and BMW designers went ahead with a new project development. It will be a common platform for building of two cars under the above brands. As we know from the German press, the Bavarian engineers and designers will be engaged in the development of the exterior and interior view of the car, which is expected to be similar to the ConnectedDrive Vision concept. The length of the novelty will not exceed 4500 mm, and height – 1340 millimeters. The distance between the two axles is 2500 mm. The Z5 body will be made of carbon fiber and remind the composition used in i3 and i8 models. Japanese carmakers will provide the joint child by technical and technological components.

The German car, presumably named as Z5, will be equipped by a hybrid power plant. Though earlier, it was rumored that under the hood of a sport coupe there will be installed 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo motor, which will be able to deliver 190, 245 and 270 horsepower depending on the broach tool.

Now the most interesting – a cost of German-Japanese novelty. According to representatives of German media, BMW Z5 price will start from 35 000 euros. The official debut of the new German sport car will be in 2017 year.
